What I got done at the crop yesterday 081409

Yesterday was my Friday all day crop and I am really trying to get some serious scrapping done. I am afraid that I am not getting more pages done than I am. The last two weeks I have only gotten 4 pages done each day. I would like to get 8-10 pages done, so I really need to step it up!! lol

Anyway, what I got done yesterday was Month in Review pages for July. We did so many things last month that it took me 4 pages again to get all the pictures to fit and not be only 1/2 an inch wide!!! lol So here they are

So Happy Together by Stacey Towers
So now I only need to complete the ones for April and May and then I will be caught up with this year's month in review pages. lol I still have about 3 months from 2008 to complete also, so I really need to work on this this week and at this week's Friday crop.
Also come back tomorrow to see a new kit that Shel is doing as a collab with Digi Designs by Nicole (the one I actually met while I was in Utah!). It is called Family Ties, a great kit you will definitely want!

Oops one more

Dang, I thought I was all caught up posting and then noticed I had not posted these ones. I have been a busy bee these last two weeks and have gotten 11 pages done (that's as many as I got done the whole month of July! lol) And today is Friday which means it is my scrapping day so there will be more posts over the next two days! So don't forget to come back!

Don't forget to look at the post below to see the majority of the pages I have completed the last two weeks!

Summer Spritzer by Bits N Bobs and other pages recently completed

Bits N Bobs has another fun kit out! I love the yellow and orange and pinks in this kit. I thought that even though I loved the colors it would be hard for me to complete pages with this kit. Luckily the elements helped me and I was able to make BOY pages with this kit! lol Here is the entire kit and it can be purchased at Exquisite Scraps.

Here is one of the pages I completed.....I sooooo wanted to use that frame, but I could NOT get the page to work, took me a whole day last week changing out pics and sizes and everything else, but I think I got it to work out great!
These pages were easy to do. As soon as I saw the bubbles I KNEW which pics would go with it! And the colors worked great because of the color of my nephew's shirt. I LOVE how I did the reflection/mini faces inside the bubbles on the second page! I have seen other people do it and I wanted to try it out. I think it turned out great!

I was on a roll with the bubble pics and wanted to have all the pages completed for this event so I went on scrapping them. I love my son's face (the one in the orange in the background of the large pic on this first page). I wish I would have caught it more than my nephew but you wouldn't have known what he was so excited about if I hadn't caught it this way! lol

On this one I followed the directions from a Speed Scrap, but since it was one in the past I didn't actually do it during the speed scrap. But I love using them as it makes me think outside the box. I would have NEVER put the three pieces of paper on the page like that. lol

Now I think I am all caught up with posting all my pages that I have completed to date. lol

STS Speed Scrap #50

Yep another speed scrap! Woohoo two in less than a week!!

Okay so this one was REALLY hard for me. I fought almost every step along the way!!! lol Here are the instructions:

STEP 1: CHOOSE 5 SOLID PAPERS-USE ONE FOR YOUR BACKGROUND
STEP 2: TAKE 3 OF THE PAPERS AND CUT INTO 3 DIFFERENT BASIC SHAPES (SHAPES-CIRCLE, SQUARE, TRIANGLE, RECTANGLE) OR SIZES- LAYER THEM IN THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF YOUR LO
STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR PHOTO-CUT IT INTO A BASIC SHAPE DIFF. FROM YOUR PAPER SHAPES. USE THE LAST OF YOUR SOLID PAPERS TO MATT YOUR PHOTO.
STEP 4: CHOOSE A FRAME AND FRAME YOUR MATTED PICTURE IN AN 'UNUSUAL' WAY.
STEP 5: CHOOSE 2-4 DIFF. FLOWERS AND 2-3 OTHER ELEMENTS. DUPLICATE THE FLOWERS AS NEEDED TO MAKE A CLUSTER ALL THE WAY ALONG THE BOTTOM OF YOUR LO. ADD IN YOUR OTHER ELEMENTS AS YOU'D LIKE.
STEP 6: ADD YOUR TITLE TO THE LEFT OF YOUR PHOTO. USE AN ELEMENT TO MAKE THE 1ST LETTER OF ONE WORD. (OR) USE AN ALPHA/FONT MIX ON YOUR TITLE.
STEP 7: ADD YOUR FINISHING TOUCHES: DROP SHADOWS, DATE, JOURNALING...

And here is my result. I think in the end it turned out good. I really love the cool frame and I love the flower border with the ribbon and the city and date on the ribbon at the bottom. I am still not totally wild about the circles, but OH WELL. The LO is done and I am not doing it again!

A new Speed Scrap

Today when I got home from work I was doing a few things and then remembered that there was a speed scrap that started at 2pm. Well it was 3pm at this time and I thought, well heck I will TRY to get it done in the hour that remains. So I started going for it.

Here are the instructions:
Step 1:Choose 1 photo. Use a mask or photo split on it. Make sure the photo nearly fills your page.
Step 2:Choose a solid or lightly patterned paper for your background.
Choose 1-3 other papers and create paper strips behind your photo.
If your photo is vertical, place the strips horizontal.
If your photo is horizontal, place the strips vertical.
Don't forget to save your page!
Step 3: Attach your photo to the page. I used screws, you could use staples or brads, like that.
Step 4: Place 1 large “see thru” element behind your photo, but in front of your papers. I used chicken wire, you could use mesh, something along those lines.
Step 5: Make a small cluster of at least 3 items in one corner of your page. Did you save lately?
Step 6: Date your page, journal if you wish - in a different corner than your cluster.
Step 7: Title in 2 different fonts or 1 font and an alpha. Don't forget your shadows.

And here is my take on the directions! I LOVE how it turned out!!! Of course I love the pic to begin with and then the page just makes it even better!

As many of you know the end of June I went to a weekend scrapbook retreat with many of my friends from my weight loss website SparkPeople. We have been planning this retreat for almost a year. We even formed our own private team called Sisterhood of the Traveling Crops (yes based off the movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). We are planning on doing this every year!!!

So in the day and a half we have of scrapbooking this is what I completed!
