Logan By The Scrappy Kat

The April STS Build a Kit is here and Kat really got into this one! :-) The kit is named after her son Logan, so it is a very boyish kit (and of course I am LOVING that!) Here are a couple of the previews.

And my pages. This will be my April desktop as soon as April 1st hits! lol
And this is a page from Tye's field day at school! The kids were so funny and got so bummed out when they didn't win each race, some they were pretty good, others they were REALLY bad at! lol They ended up getting 3rd out of 8 classes. They said "we did horrible, we lost" and we kept trying to tell them 3rd was really good. We tried to remind them they could have been last in 8th place! lol So here is the class.

So if you want to get Kat's portion or any of the others for the April Build-A-Kit run on over to the STS store and pick them up for $1.99 each OR you can buy 3 or more and save 50% if you use the coupon code APRILBAK_BUY3_SAVEHALF!

March Card Club

Tuesday night was card club again! Oh how I have missed it!!! lol I love the cute ideas the girls come up with and it is lots of fun to gab about everything! lol

Here is my card, it may look familiar because I made it for another wedding last year. So I decided to use it for my card this month so everyone could have a wedding card. :-)

This is Karina's card. I love the blue square with the "spring" on it and then the butterfly! So cute!
And then we have another butterfly card! hehehe I must admit I like Janette's card better than the one I created for myself because I didn't do as many holes on the bottom for the ribbon and so hers looks much cuter! lol But I love the card itself, just not mine! hehehe

Amanda created this baby card. So fun!! Each of the flaps have a stamp on it... "giggle", "wonderful", "cherish", and "adorable".

Then when you pull the string you get this...
The bottom flap says "congratulations" going down and then "on the birth of your beautiful baby!" going across. It turned out super adorable!
Thanks girls for another great night! I love getting together!! And having more cards to use! (But not one birthday card, dang it! lol Still have a ton to make for the birthdays the next two months! lol Better keep workin' on it! lol)

Lemongrass by Spinky Dink Scraps

Spinky Dink Scraps has a new kit out called Lemongrass. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do with it to begin with and then I realized there really were lemons in the kit and decided to rescrap the first time we gave Tye lemons to try.

So here is the preview of the entire kit.

And my lemon LO.

I also used it to create my desktop for March. Yeah I am a little behind and just getting it done, I still had January on there!!! lol

So if you want to purchase this kit for yourself head on over to Spinky Dink's store and grab it for yourself!

Valentine's Day Cards and birthday cards

Here is the card I made for DS for Valentine's Day. I ended up making two because well, it seems lately I try to make two of every card, first of all you are typically cutting an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper in two, you are already inking up a stamp, why not stamp it twice, etc. But not sure what I am going to use the second card for! lol Maybe just to send to my family one day because I love them. Who knows?! lol Anyway, I actually gave him the one on the right.

For Valentine's the last couple of years we have had a BFF Valentine's Day Swap with my scrapbooking retreat group (Sisterhood of the Traveling Crops). This year I got Denice. She is the one who introduced me to Glimmermist, so I decided to make a card using that for her for Valentine's day. Here it is!

And since I thought the idea was so awesome, I decided to make the same card, but just use a different stamp for my aunt, Staci's birthday card. I think they turned out great! Oh and just click on either one to see them better, the pics are a little blurry and I am not sure why I didn't think I was that close to them. But the cards do shimmer!! lol

It was Tye's teacher, Miss Paugh's birthday on March 3rd, so I had asked all the parents to help their kids make homemade birthday cards for her and also donate some money so I could get her a gift card to her favorite restaurant (Chili's). So this is the card I decided to make for her, just like me, blue is her favorite color. So we tried to make a card using those colors. I think it turned out cute! lol And yes Tye helped with the coloring (hence why there are some parts out of the lines! lol)

So there you have it. The cards that I have created and have been sent out already. I have worked on several more, but cannot post them yet as they are for my two crazy birthday months coming up. Between April and May I have 16 birthdays! So I am trying to get them done this month since March is my lag birthday month (only one and I used a card I already had made previously and it has already been sent out!) GO ME! lol I hope people enjoy getting the homemade ones as much as I enjoy making them. I try to find things I think they will like or match who they are or at the very least are "their colors". :-)

STS Speed Scrap #221

I participated in a speed scrap Friday night! I haven't done one of those in FOREVER!

Here are the directions:
Step 1: Choose 4-7 photos - keep 1 large, crop the others to small sizes (like 2x2, 2x3, 3x3, etc)Step 2: Choose 3 papers - at least one needs to be solid. Cut the solid 6x12 - put it aside for now, use one paper for the background, cut one about 4x12 and put it on top of the background
Step 3: Choose 1 element that is flat looking. You are going to duplicate this on the solid paper to create a "patterned paper". If your kit has the same element in different colors, you can use those. Place your new patterned paper on the layout.
Step 4: Frame, mat, stroke, or brush the edges of all of your photos. Put your large photo towards one side of your layout. Cluster the smaller photos on one side of the large photo. All photos should be connected.
Step 5: Add 2 ribbons or string. Also make a cluster with 5 other elements.
Step 6: Create a title and put it sideways on your layout.
Step 7: Add journaling, date, shadows, and/or whatever else you need to complete your layout.

And here is what I came up with! It is for the race I just completed.

Well Suited by Spinky Dink Scrap and Trixie Scraps

Spinky Dink Scraps is on another collab roll! lol This time she has teamed up with Trixie Scraps to create a kit called Well Suited. I love the colors in it, kindof muted, but so pretty! Here is the preview of the entire kit.

Also she has a pack of templates on sale too! I LOVE templates especially when I feel a loss as to how to do a layout.

So I combined the two and came up with this LO. This is my step siblings with their parents. I thought the colors in the picture went perfectly with the colors in the kit!

And then WARNING, WARNING for our Moms...don't show our Dads! lol
I must admit when I first saw this kit it screamed 1970 tweed jackets to me so I thought it would be a perfect kit to make some Father's Day cards for the dads. So what I will do will be to upload them to Walmart and get them printed out as a regular "picture" stick them on the front of a card base and viola here's our Father's Day cards! Simple but cute!

This kit can be purchased at Spinky Dink's Store. Click here.
