Americana by Bits N Bobs (plus S2L Challenge pages)

Julie doesn't really have any other new kits out right now, her mojo is a lost lol So I went back to some older kits of hers and saw this cute American kit! It is called Americana and I love that the colors aren't the normal dark blue and deep red! I ended up making 4 pages with it today!

Anyway, here is a preview of the kit. Aren't the colors cool?!
And now to my pages. I guess I used flowers on all the pages so any of them can count for the S2L Challenge for the week of 2/21-2/28. The first two are at the fourth of July parade in Rexburg, ID last year. My niece wanted to get lots of candy so she found a helper! lol When she returned from getting loads of candy her pockets were bulging and her pants were falling down from the weight of it all! lol
This one meets the 2/14-2/21 challenge of using a heart on your LO. (not the normal V-Day page, but it still has a heart on it, so it counts! lol)
These are from the 4th of July the year before (2008). Aren't the kids so cute with their red, white and blue on?!
And then I flipped the page over and made a two page spread using a different picture and a few more embellishments!! WOOHOO go me!! lol
So head on over to Bits N Bobs blog and click on the banner for Exquisit Scraps so you can grab this kit for yourself!

STS SS #104

On Tuesday I participated in another Speed Scrap at STS. Here are the instructions:

Step 1: Pick out 3 pictures all from the same event.
Step 2: Pick out 2 papers, 1 solid 1 pattern
Step 3: Put your pattern down as your background, and with your solid, give it a decorative edge (scallop, etc.) and put it on top of your pattern background so the pattern paper can still be seen.
Step 4: Arrange your 3 pictures in a row, anywhere on your page.
Step 5: Frame 1 picture with any shape other than what the picture shape is. So, if you picture is rectangle, you can't use a rectangular frame, but maybe a square or circle, etc. Staple it down
Step 6: Pick any 1 embellishment, 1 ribbon or ricrac, and 1 button. Put the 1 embellishment on the framed picture. Put your button on your ricrac, and put that anywhere on your page.
Step 7: Give your layout a title and journal like crazy about the picture. Don't forget to date it

So here is what I came up with! What do you think? I think it is simple yet cute! lol

And then I went ahead and completed the second page to go with it today.

100 Days of School 2010 by Shel Belle Scraps

Shel Belle Scraps has a kit that came out recently. It is the third edition of this kit, called 100 Days of School 2010.

Tye just celebrated his 100th day of school on Monday, but I wasn't there and didn't take any pictures of it. So I ended up scrapping some pictures of his Pre-K graduation. These four kids were such good friends the entire year of Pre-K, they would come home talking about each other every day. (Tye even would call the two girls--who are twins, at different times, his girlfriend! lol) Here are some pictures of them being so silly! It took forever to get some good pictures of them sitting nicely and then they had fun playing after we got the formal stuff taken care of. lol

I did this first page during a speed scrap at STS. I am not going to post the directions, but it was SS#100 if you want to go to STS and get the directions for yourself.

There are lots of cool science pieces to this kit if you are looking for a kit for the science fair or something like that. So head on over to Shel's blog and find out how to get this kit for yourself!

My Love by Bits N Bobs

Bits N Bobs has a new kit out called My Love. Here is a preview of the kit.

And here is what I did with it! Thanks to my friends and family for allowing me to use their pictures to create these beauties! lol

So head on over to Bits N Bobs blog to find out how to snag this kit for yourself!

Little Things by Spinky Dink Scraps (and a few S2L Challenges)

Lindsay has another great kit called Little Things! I love the pinks and browns and oranges! I love how my pages turned out with this kit. I have a few things that I combined together to make my pages so here goes. This is the full preview!

Now to my pages....last night at Stuff to Scrap they had a speed scrap. So of course I had to participate. Here are the instructions:

1- Choose 2 solid papers (one darker and one lighter) and 1 patterned.

2- The darker paper it's your main background, put the patterned paper on top of your background, resize it enough to show a little of the background paper.

3- Resize the lighter paper to 10x10 and put it on top of the patterned paper. Use some stitches to hold the paper.

4- Choose a wordart to be your title and emboss it in a corner of the smaller paper.

5- Choose 3 photos and frame them. Place your photos close together(they should touch each other)on the upper 3rd of your page in the opposite corner of your title.

6- Underneath your photos you'll place a ribbon and two swirly elements.

7- Pick two kinds of flowers and a button, duplicate twice and make 4 little clusters and place them close to the photos. You can put them on top or underneath.

This is what I came up with. It also goes with the S2L Challenge for last week Jan 31-Feb 6 of pink and brown!!

And while I was at it I couldn't forget to scrap the rest of my sissers so I basically flipped the page, put the other sissers in with some additional frames and moved the elements around and was done with my accompanying page! lol This takes care of the S2L Challenge for this week (2/7-2/13) of use 7 pages on a LO and scrap something that makes you happy! These girls make me happy!! I cannot wait for every Friday when we get to have our online chat/scraps and each year when we get together to have a scrapbook retreat! Too much fun!!! Definitely makes me happy!

The last one is a picture of my parents that was taken a couple of years ago. I think the colors really make the "dullness" of the picture fun! lol

So there you have it. If you love the kit like I do, run over to Spinky Dink Scraps to see how you can get it too!

Love Ya by Shel Belle Scraps and MyLife Challenge Week 4 (1/24-1/30)

I am such a bad girl! I totally forgot about the new kit that Shel has on her blog! It is called Love Ya. She will be giving out one portion a week. So hurry and get part one before Sunday so you don't miss it! Here is a preview of the full kit.
Here is what I did with it. It is for the MyLife Challenge at STS for week 4. The challenge was to use LOTS of journaling on our LO. She told us to journal about something that is important to us. So I decided to use Shel's kit and make a LO about a portion of my weight loss journey.

Don't forget to head on over there and get the kit today before it goes into the store on Sunday!

February Card Club 02/09/10

Last night was card club again! I am really loving this. Although it took me forever to pull my card together even though I had the basic idea for almost a month now! lol

We had another fun night chatting, making cards and learning new things! :-)

The card below on the left was Karina's card. She used the cuttlebug to emboss the paper on the top and also to cut out the flowers. Then we inked everything and put it together! An any use card!

The one on the right is Amanda's card. She got this cool punch that has the Thanks on it....isn't it nifty?! I think it is cool looking. And then she used her cricut to cut the darling little girl flying her kite!
This is my card. A month or so ago my friend Pam talked about this cute moose stamp she had gotten that was sick in bed. I had a feeling it was going to be darling so I asked her if she would stamp me a couple of images so I could use them for my card club. I then used watercolor pencils to color the image in and then used green and blue and brown papers and ribbon to pull it all together. I think the stamp IS adorable!!! And I ended up with a few extras so I made a total of 3 of these last night! :-)

The final card is Jennie's card. She did a Valentine's day card. I think it is super cute especially when you open it up and see what's inside!

It's a Pop-Up!!! How cute is that?! I totally love it!

Thanks ladies for another fun night and great cards! Can't wait to use them! :-)

SS #99 at STS

So in addition to all the other pages I completed today I also participated in a Speed Scrap at Stuff to Scrap.

Here are the instructions:

Step 1: Choose 5 papers- 3 patterned & 2 solids-resize one of the solid papers to 11 in. (3300 Pixels)
and center it on a patterned paper for your background.

Step 2: Cut rectangular shapes out of 2 of your patterned papers(make these 2 larger than the solid cut out) and 1 solid paper. Layer them in the middle of your page with your 2 patterned cut outs on the bottom and your solid on top.

Step 3: Choose 2 photos. Place these on top of your rectangular shaped cutouts. One tilted right, and one tilted left. Make sure they are slightly overlapping in the center.

step 4: Choose something 'swirly'; a string, a flourish, a doodle, ect. and place it underneath your left photo so that it is 'peaking' out on the top, bottom, and left side.

Step 5: Choose 3 other elements to go behind your photos. Place 1 element underneath the bottom left corner of the left photo. Place another one under the right side of the right photo with it peaking out and the last one underneath the right photo sticking out some at the bottom. Duplicate the 1st element (underneath your left photo) and bring it to the top of the photo. Make it smaller and rotate it slightly so that you can see the bottom element under it.

step 6: Place a one word title at the bottom right hand corner of the photo on the right. Make the first letter of the word larger than the rest of the word.

Step 7: Add journaling and a date if you'd like. Don't forget your drop shadows, and any other finishing touches.

I'll be honest, this is probably the only SS page I have ever been disappointed with. I could not understand what she was wanting with the directions. They just were not making sense to me. Plus the fact that I was trying to chat on my normal Friday chat and chat at STS and SS, it just was not working. It isn't the worst page by any means, but I am just not happy with it at all. Here is the page, I will probably end up changing it at some point, but for now it is done.

So here it is....what do you think?

I got the two of the pages done that are posted below for Bits N Bobs, plus I got the bottom LO done of the pages I posted for Spinky Dink Scraps done, then I got the My Life Challenge page done, participated in a speed scrap and finally I completed these two pages.

This one is from the participation prize from Wednesday nights Speed Scrap! lol Isn't it a cute kit?! Scraps by Andrea

2 Speed Scraps today 020510

I am a little behind in posting my layouts, but I am posting these SS's that I completed today during my online crop.

This first one was completed at The Studio. Here are the instructions (BTW I changed it after I completed it so I could have two photos instead of one since we didn't have a photo with all three of us in it. I will complete page 2 at some time down the road.)

1. Find a kit that has 8 or 9 pages or more in it. Use one paper for your background. Cut 3 into strips. And 4 or 5 into circle shapes. Just cut them into long 12 in strips or circles in their own file before copying it into your background page.
2. 2nd step... just pick out one picture and cut it into a circle, too.
3. Place the 3 strips of paper together on the right side of the background paper from top of page to bottom, all touching one or more of the strips. Arrange all the circles along the strips, including the picture. Put the picture on the very top layer of all the circles.
4. Pick out long stitches or if no stitches a very long element that can "hold" down all your strips and circles and picture together.
5. Find a scatter of tiny flowers, sequins, beads, glitter... and place it under the picture and circles, peeking out all along the left side of the circles/picture.
6. Add a little tag as part of your cluster, and embellish cluster with any 2 or 3 more elements you think it needs clustered on top of the scatter but under picture/circles. Put a year on the tag.
7. Add journaling if you'd like in the top left corner or just a title in the top left corner.

The Magic Faraway Tree Collab by A Work in Progress and Mel Hains Designs

The second one I completed at Stuff to Scrap. Here are the instructions for that one:

Step 1: Select 1-2 pictures
Step 2: Select 3-4 papers - 1 patterned - the rest plain
Step 3: Place the patterned paper on the background then place one of the plain papers over it - covering it completely.
Step 4: Rip or cut out part of the plain paper to show the patterned paper underneath
Step 5: Use the other papers(s) to mat the photo(s)
Step 6: Create a cluster on the LO that includes at least: 1 flower, 1 string/ribbon, 1 scatter, 1 fastener
Step 7: Add title, date, drop shadows and any other finishing touches!
