White Chocolate by ShelBelleScraps

Shel has a new freebie kit starting today called White Chocolate! The colors are cream, light brown and dark brown. Or as she says, "white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate"! lol
When I saw this kit I thought it went really well with heritage type photos. But since I have very few of those, I actually turned some of our recent pictures into sephia tone and I think it turned out great! As always, click on the photos to see it enlarged.

Here is a preview of the kit! You can pick it up at ShelBelleScraps starting later today. I hope you think it is as beautiful as I do!

BFF Valentine's Swap

On my Sisterhood of the Traveling Crops team on Sparkpeople.com, we are a really close group of ladies. We all LOVE scrapbooking and met on the Scrap to Lose team (which is where I have all those challenges from). Well we got really close on our weekly chat/crops. It ends up that it is almost always the same 12 of us every week basically. So last year we ended up deciding to go to a scrapbook retreat together this coming June in PA! We are so excited! We also formed a private team with just the 12 of us and named it the Sisterhood of the Traveling Crops (kindof like the Sisterhood of the traveling pants, but since we are going to change locations of our crops each year then it is the traveling crops! lol Clever, huh?!)

ANYWAY, on our Sisterhood team we decided to do a Valentine’s swap. It could be anything you wanted, but just a V-day gift for someone else on the team. The names we drawn and I had Robin. Due to Kevin’s loss of a job and my switch to mostly digital I decided to give Robin stuff from my stash that I was not going to use any more! I hope she liked everything, I tried to cater it to pages she would do like for her DS.

Alicia gave to me. She gave me the perfect gift for me, a Gift Certificate to a digital scrapbooking store! So this weekend, the store she gave me the GC from was having a 40% off sale!! WOOHOO Score for me!! lol So here is a preview of what I got! (oh DH also kicked in a little money as his V-Day present for me…I won’t go into details why, let’s just say he wasn’t thinking clearly! lol).

The first one is called Jurscrappic Park. I am going to use it for all the pics we took at Dinosaur world! These first three are all by Kathryn Estry, she has some darling kits with her little characters!

This one is called Polka Dot Express. I am not totally sure what all I am going to use this for, but probably some of it will be for our time at the Ringling Museum (we rode a little cart/train thing). The colors and animals are just too dang cute and it was only $2.99 so I couldn't pass it up! lol
I debated about this one. I LOVED it, but don't currently have any baseball pics, but KNOW I will in the future (in fact I ended up taking some today when we took DS to the park). I know I will have even more because he LOVES baseball and tells me all the time that he wants to play it! So I decided to get it (this is basically the kit DH bought me). This kit is called Peanuts and CrackerJacks. Aren't those little boy and girl batting sooooooooo adorable?!

And this is the final kit I bought. Perfect for my little car boy! lol I have plenty of pics with him playing with his cars and trains so this one will work great. And it is just a great boys kit with the colors even if there aren't any cars or trains in the picture! It is called Beep Beep! by Karen Lewis.

Thanks Alicia for a perfect gift for me! I loved it and it was well used! Now to go use the actual product!!! :-) THANK YOU!!!

What I got done at the crop tonight! 021309

I am quite proud of myself! I go soooo much done today especially considering I didn't even get to get on the crop until after 12:30 today!!! (I had to work this morning.)

Anyway, so my first page is from the aquarium. This was created using the Deep Sea Kit by Stephanie at Phantom Scraps

This next one is from when we went to the car race (not Nascar, but the next level down lol). Tye totally LOVED it!!! We had tons of fun!! Here is the pre-race stuff, meeting the drivers, getting his autograph, he was the only one that Tye was willing to wait for I guess. This was created using the kit called Racing Cars by AmieBear.
And here is more race stuff. DS right before the race started and then during the race. The quotes on this page is by Darrel Waltrip, he says that just as every Nascar race starts and the cars come to the green flag. DS loves that saying and says it alot now that we watched the race together last weekend! The kit I used for this LO is called Nascar by the Scrappin Alikat. She has some super awesome stuff on her blog. Go check it out some time!

Final project done at the crop on 2/6/09

So I didn't feel like doing any paper scrapping or getting my scrapbook table set back up. So I decided to continue working on my pictures from February 2007. I really wanted to get those pictures done last month, but I didn't. So I am going to try to get them done again this month. I keep getting farther behind in the chronological sense, but I know I have completed TONS of pages that are more current, so although I am still way behind, I am not as behind as it seems chronologically! lol Did that make sense????? lol

So here is the page I created today. I used Nicole's Outdoor Adventure kit. It is from our trip to the Aquarium and they have one of the largest fishes, definitely the largest I have ever seen!!! And of course his name is Goliath! lol The kids were in awe!

What I got done at the crop so far today 020609

Today is my Friday online crop with my favorite Scrap to Lose friends from SparkPeople.com!! I love Fridays as I get to scrap all day long and chat with my friends! I also do not do any house work or make any meals. Everything is either pre-made or picked up by Kevin! lol I get all my chores done earlier in the week so I can play all day!!! :-)

So today I had a list of 5 different LOs I wanted to complete. The first one was my CT layout for ShelBelleScraps (see post below for the super cute LO I completed! lol). So yes, I got that one done.

The next one I wanted to complete was a LO for the challenge Trifaith (see her blog here). If you make a LO with the first half of the kit, called 2B or not 2B, she gives you the second half. I just loved the little bee so I definitely wanted the other half with Mrs. Bee in it! lol So here is the LO I completed for that. Checked that off the list!

The third thing was to complete a page with MY kit! lol I posted previously that Barbara (her blog can be found here) made a sunflower kit for ME! She was so sweet and I totally loved the kit, so I wanted to make a LO with it today. So I worked on it but the words didn't work because the original word art only said Sunflower. So I begged her and sweet talked her and kissed up all around...hehehe....and asked her if she could easily make a new one adding an S on the end. Since I love Sunflower sounds stupid! lol It wasn't long before I had the new wordart sitting in my inbox! She is the best!!! And I mean that, it is not just kissing up! I love the kit, she did an awesome job with it!!! So here is my LO of the Michele's Sunflower Kit! DONE too!! lol

Three out of five isn't bad and the day isn't over!! The final two projects are to recreate my "In Memory of" page of Brother Wilson for Sister Wilson to keep. I really need to get it done and I haven't forgotten, but since I have been so over paper scrapping I really have not even attempted to do it. I really would like to complete it today if possible, but hopefully definitely this weekend! And the other one is to complete a LO of when everyone was saying goodbye to Jasmine before she left our house. I had some ideas the other day and really wanted to finish it, but honestly I can't remember what they were today so I am not sure if that will happen!! lol We will see!!

My friendship swap page

So Denice has been BEGGING to see someone's friendship swap page. So I told her I would post mine. So DENICE here you go! lol I just sent it off to the printer yesterday so hopefully I will have it back by the end of next week! :-)

Lots of pinks, reds, hearts and she even threw in some purple and teal! Makes it really fun, but I stuck to the traditional white, pink and red! lol Here is my LO. Click on the image to see it bigger so you can read our Top 10 Reasons We Love Our Boy!
Be sure to go grab the new kit starting on Sunday. Her blinkie is to the right on my blog and you can click to her blog that way. The kit is called Celebrate Love! Hurry go get it!!! hehehe :-)

Two Pages from kits by SpinkyDinkScraps

So this past week and yesterday I got two new kits to play with from Lindsay at SpinkyDinkScraps. I was really excited, but didn't have time to play with them until yesterday since we had company. But before the Super Bowl started I was determined to complete the Valentine's Day kit page. This is part of her Cotton Candy Kreations Collab kit. Didn't it turn out so cute??? Isn't my son adorable with the flower?
Since I completed the first page so quickly I had plenty of time to complete a second one!! So I decided to work on a page with her brand new kit that can be found at www.digitalpaperhearts.com . It is called Brighten My Day and it has lots of fun elements in it. I had several thoughts on how I was going to use it but couldn't find quite the right pictures. But then found this one with my DS's green and grey vest for Easter in 2007. I think the colors turned out great with this picture! But definitely did not use all the elements I had originally intended on using as I thought it over powered the picture waaay too much!!
