STS SS#63

This afternoon there was a speed scrap. I was so looking forward to participating in it and then totally spaced it. It was 4:44 when I realized it started at 3pm! UGH!! I decided to give it a whirl and at 5:17 I posted the LO. So it took me just over 30 mins to complete this LO! lol I am sure I was too late for the particiation prize (I hope not, but I think I was) and that really stinks cause it was a cute one!

Step 1: Pick 1 picture and alter it any way you want. Sepia, Black White, Vintage, Change color, etc. Then download the following template shape: Link expired
Step 2: Choose 3 papers: 2 patterned and 1 solid
Step 3: Use 1 of your patterned papers for your main background, the 2nd patterned paper clip it to the template shape you downloaded, and your solid paper, use it to mat your picture.
Step 4: The clipped pattern paper, arrange it on top of your main patterned background paper any way you want. Tuck your matted picture into the clipped paper.
Step 5: Add mesh, wire or other similar textured element behind your matted picture.
Step 6: Find and use 1 heart, 1 flower, 4 buttons and 1 other element of your choice (I used an owl) and arrange them on or around your matted picture.
Step 7: Using alpha, make a 1 word title. Date your layout and add your drop shadows.

So here is my 30 min LO! lol Pretty good considering I think it took me at least 5-10 mins just to find those dang buttons! lol

Bits N Bobs has several new kits out. Here are my layouts from the first fabulous new kit! It is called Indian Summer. I love all the sparkle and glitter and bubbles. Too many cool elements! Here is a preview of the kit.

I am really getting into these life like scene LOs and extracting the subject out of the photo. It is hard when there are little pieces like the plants, but I think it looks pretty awesome! So what do you think?

Today was quite the productive day. In addition to the three pages I completed above I completed two pages in our weight loss albums (and if you read my blog regularly you know I don't show those! lol)

Here is the speed scrap instructions:

STEP 1: Choose 1 picture. It should be one that has memories of some sort attached to it (event, vacation, party, etc.).

STEP 2: Choose four papers--2 patterned, 2 solid. Place one solid paper as the background.

STEP 3: Create 3 shapes of any type (squares, rectangles, circles, stars, etc.) and any size using your three other papers. Overlap them on your page as much or as little as you wish.

STEP 4: Place your photo toward the center of your layout. Add a photomask or frame if you wish.

STEP 5: Choose 3 elements and add them to your layout as many times as you wish. Layer at least one element behind your photo.

STEP 6: Add journaling--but don't use complete sentences. (Think lists or of the "priceless" credit card commercials.) Make sure you have at least three lines of journaling.

STEP 7: Add a two word title. Place one word vertically and the other horizontally.

STS SS#58

Last night Alicia and I participated in the SS at StufftoScrap.

Here are the instructions:
1 -Pick 2 photos from the same event with people in them
2 -Pick 4 papers – 2 plain and 2 pattern. Use one of the plain papers as your background paper and place your 2 photos side by side on it close to each other but not overlapping. You can use your 2nd plain paper to mat your photos if you want
3 -Cut your 2 pattern papers into strips (one of each paper). They should be different lengths and widths. Place the 2 strips together slightly overlapping on one side of your photos (above, below or to one side). Pick a coordinating ribbon and put it with those two strips slightly overlapping one of them. So you will have 3 strips – 2 paper and 1 ribbon.
4 -Put your journaling words on little strips of paper on top of where the 2 photos are almost touching each other. These should be on the 2nd piece of plain paper and you should have 5-10 lines of journaling, just a couple of words on each piece of paper. So your pieces should be around ¼” tall and ¾” – 1 1/2” wide. So they should all be stacked on top of each other with a little space in-between over the top of where those two photos meet up with each other
5 -At the end of where your paper strips/ribbon are, make a cluster using at least 4 embellishments and try adding a big letter (monogram) from alpha or you can use a font. The letter could be the initial of the last name of the people in your pictures.
6 -Add a tab with the date or a subtitle poking out from under one of your photos and add at least 3 more embellishments somewhere else around your layout. It can be another cluster, or something to “hold” your photos down or whatever you feel it needs
7 -Add drop shadows, save your layout, upload to your gallery with keyword ss

What else I got done at the crop (a 2nd SS too)

So today was another not so productive day. Seems like I just had lost my mojo or something because everything just took forever! I am very tired now, so I am hurrying and getting this posted and then heading off to bed.

I got this page done (plus one more, but I will post it tomorrow or Sunday morning for a new kit that ShelBelleScraps is coming out with on Sunday).
This is the speed scrap page for tonight (look down one post to see the page I got done for the speed scrap this morning--I LOVE that page!).

Here are the instructions:
1. Go to your pictures folder and choose only 1 photo.
2. Find 1 solid paper for your background paper
3. Now go and find 4 patterned papers. 3 of them you will cut into strips. The 4th one you will use to matte your picture.
4. Go find some type of wrap (ribbon, string, rubber band, etc..) to "hold" your picture to your matte.
5. Embellish how you like but make sure you include some bling, greenery, and some sort of cluster.
6. Create a two word title using only fonts (no alpha's) and it must be two different fonts and monochromatic with your background page.
7. Add your journaling and a date.

I really don't like this page, but it's okay. And I guess it is done. Or at least I am too tired to care. lol Night all.

Okay so I have no clue what speed scrap number I am on in our online crop/chats! lol Anyway here are the instructions:

Step 1-Open 6 papers: 1 solid, 5 patterned. Use 1 patterned paper as your background and add the solid paper leaving a frame around it of the background like a matte.
Step 2-Choose 1 photo, convert it to black and white and place it on the page.
Step 3- select a patterned paper to create a matte behind your photo.
Step 4-Use remaining patterned papers to create paper strips and place on the page.
Step 5-Create a cluster using 3 flowers, 1 string or ribbon, and a piece of greenery. Place it somewhere on the page.
Step 6- Add some stitching anywhere you choose.
Step 7- Add your final touches like title, journaling, date and shadows.

Kit used is the Fairy Tale weddings blog train through Stuff to Scrap I used a little bit of everyone's kit in one way or another! lol

STS SS# 56

First of all I am soooooo glad I joined this one, because I learned how to do something I have never done before! Gotta LOVE that!!! :-)

So here are the instructions:
1- Pick 2 papers - 1 plain, 1 patterned Pick 3 pictures Blend one of your pictures onto your plain paper (paper can have texture, ofcourse, it just has to be plain enough for your picture to show!). Make the picture large... it should take about 1/3 of your paper.
2- We are now going to do some writing! Pick your title... write your title with a small font. Hilight one (or more) words in your title by changing color/size/font. Bring the opacity down to about 60 % so it will "blend" with the page. Now, copy the title several times (I copied mine about 15) and arrange the lines scattered throughout your page.
3 - You should now have a "new canvas"!! Pick 3 frames (can all be the same, but they don't have to be the same!). Make them small, so that the photos would be aprox 2.5x2.5. They don't have to be square, this is just a guideline. Arrange them in your page any way you want them to be arranged. Then insert in the frames the two remaining pictures AND a copy of the third picture (which you have already used for the background). You should have 3 different pictures, one in each frame.
4- Cluster time!! (I know you guys like them!!). At least 3 flowers (can be more and they do not have to be all different), two ribbons or bows, several twigs or greenery of some sort and anything else you might want to "throw in". Make a cluster and place it in one of the corners of the LO.
5- Pick a fun element (or two). Copy the element(s) 3 times and place one on top of each of your frames. You should be starting to catch up by now... if you don't, you will with the next set of instructions!
6- Now it is that time when you take a good look at your LO, add the "final" touches, your drop shaddows, date, etc, etc! This is also your "catch up" time!! LOL!!
There are still one more instruction left in this Speedscrap, isn't there? Yep! There is, but first, I need you to finish this part up, and merge all your layers!
7 -So this is what you all have been waiting for!! Pick a color that goes with your LO and stroke the merged page. Place that page on top of your patterned paper... "Shrink" the merged LO so that the patterned paper shows as a "border" (about 1/2 inch each side, so you can see some of the pattern). Go ahead and pick one of the elements of your clusters Place the element on the same corner where you have your cluster (make the element a little larger, if it is too small so you can distinguish it from the "rest of the cluster"). The element should be "connecting" your LO onto the background page. Add final drop shaddows and "voila"!!!

A start to my 10th anniversary album

So the good thing is that my DH doesn't really read my scrapbook blog! lol I usually always show him the LOs so he doesn't really need to! lol

I just decided this last week that I am going to make an album for him for our 10th anniversary. I am going to try to include things for the last 10 years. So at this point I just keep thinking of things that I want to include, but really don't have anything set. Sooooo with that said, I am just going through and doing pages along the way.

So Amy decided that she wanted to have an all day crop yesterday and asked if I wanted to join her. OF COURSE! lol I was stuck at home with a sick boy so what the heck! lol

This one was taken on our recent trip, on the tilt a whirl, of course before we started spinning it like crazy!!! lol
