Cricut already broke! lol

Uhhhh yeah, a brand new cricut and it doesn't even work! lol I can get it to turn on but the screen just has all these black squares on them and then it won't load the paper. Found this out last Friday at the crop. And of course didn't think to call Provocraft until after they had closed for the day (only missed it by 30 minutes). Anyway, when I did get to call them on Monday they told me if I still had my receipt to take it back and get a new one because they would just have to send me a new one, that one is defective. So I figured okay, no problem, I know where my receipt is......not there, okay must be here.....nope, not there either. I tore the whole house apart and finally found it in the second place I looked, but didn't see it the first time. ARGH! lol

So off to Walmart I went to exchange it. They were now back up to $184.....I got a deal!! And my timing must have been exactly right! WOOHOO Go me!! lol

Got it home, hooked it up, and it worked great. Cut out DS's name and a heart. He thought that was so cool when he got home from school that day!

I wasn't able to play with it any more on Monday or Tuesday (since I had to work). So Wednesday I decided I was going to do it. So I downloaded my Design Studio (which is what I wanted to have to use for the titles on these pages I am working on and couldn't because the machine was broken). However, it said it couldn't run because I needed some .net framework upgrade on my PC. So I called DH at work and he told me which one to use for sure (I wasn't sure if I should use the 2.0 that cricut wanted or go for the gusto and update to the 3.5 version). He told me to use the 3.5 version. So I started downloading that while I watched Dancing with the Stars. It took FOREVER! Then it told me I had to download the service packs to go with the 3.5 version. Another FOREVER! lol By then it was well after 11pm and so I just checked to make sure the Design Studio would boot up. It did, so off the computer went.

That brings us to Thursday, too much going on all day with all sorts of appts there was no way I could play.

Frida, crop day, time to catch up with it! lol Tried to register my Design Studio and it wouldn't let me. I had to call. But got it all worked out and started using it. WOOHOO!! After 3 weeks I finally can use it all! lol

So I cut out DS's name again "welding" the letters together and he says to me, "wow cool! Ah that's sweet." So grown up! lol But he loved them and so that was a good thing to practice with.

S2L Challenge for 9/14-9/20

This week's challenge was to either do a "numbers" layout with 5 pics, 4 colors, 3 brads, 2 stickers, and 1 journalling block. The other part of the challenge was to do a "Rainy Days" layout. I really wanted to try the numbers one, but it stressed me out! lol I decided I better keep it a bit simpler. I was thinking that I had some rain pictures somewhere, so I had to look, and look and look and finally found these. I have actually "scrapped" these already for my 12 on the 12th pages from Febraury. However, these pictures turned out so great they definitely deserve a layout of their own. So here is the layout I came up with. I have placed page 1 and 2 together. So hopefully it will look better with them right next to each other. (I hope at least! lol)

What I did at the crop today! And what someone else did for me! lol

Today I worked on two main projects at the crop today. First, I completed a layout I have been trying to do for a million years! YAY to finally have that done! It was of Kendrick and Tye asleep on the couch after we got home from our New Years Eve Party and David and DeAnn's house.

The second set of pages I got done tonight was of pictures I swapped with Amy from my SparkPeople Scrap to Lose team. I think they turned out great! But those circles were a major pain in the hiney to get lined up. Probably won't ever do that again! Even though the pages turned out so cute. Maybe when I have more time and am not trying to get several others done too! lol

Amy also completed a page for me. She said it was very hard because she is not a Steeler's fan (but a hater! lol) She is actually a Patriots fan. But she pushed through the pain and completed this page for me. I think it turned out really great with the different "papers" layered. Very cute!!

Ty and Thomas by Denice

Remember the post I just did a few days ago about the pages I completed for my friend Denice. Well here are the pages she did for me. She told me that she mailed them and they were sealed really well. So I told her I would get out my scissors, box cutter and my teeth! lol (Just kidding, I wouldn't really use my teeth, so don't freak out on me okay?!) Anyway, I got the package in the mail today. And it was packaged pretty securely, and even the packaging was all decorated! So cute. (But I didn't take a pic of that too! lol) So here are the pages and I think they are absolutely adorable! Tye will love them and I love them! (Oh and also don't freak out because of the spelling of his name. When he came to us it was spelled Ty, so I keep it that way in the book until the adoption and then I begin spelling it like it is spelled now! Even Kevin freaked out about it one time when someone else had done some pages and spelled it Ty. I know what I am doing--I am a professional here folks, okay not really, but you know there is a method to my madness! lol) So here are the pages!! LOVE THEM!!!! Just darling! And so Tye!!! Perfect fit! Much better than I would have ever done! Thanks Denice, they are wonderful! (The pics turned out a little blurry and I am not sure why, so just please forgive that error on my part!)

Shopping Spree! lol

Sorry to those that read both of my blogs. This is a duplicate post. But those that don't I wanted to share it with you all too!

When I lost 50 pounds my reward was to get the cricut. Well, I met the 50 pounds lost awhile ago but I still haven't gotten it. But the first part of August I decided I was going to do the cricut thing and Michaels was having a sale for the cartridges for $40 each. AND if you bought 3 of them you got Design Studio for free!!! So I decided to do it. Well, I knew I had until the end of the month to submit the rebate to get the design studio. So on 8/31 I submitted the rebate online but then it said that it had to be postmarked by 9/1.....uuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh, CRAP!!! 8/31 was Sunday and 9/1 was Labor Day. OH MAN!!!!!! I was so mad at myself because it had been on my list for a couple of days and I had just been lazy and not taken the time to do it. So I was ticked at myself. But I sent it anyway on 9/2 with a note asking them to please accept it since 9/1 was a holiday. So yesterday when I went through my emails there was one from the cricut people and it gave me my code to get the Design Studio!!!! I WAS STOKED!!!!!!!! WOOHOO, WOOHOO, WOOHOO!!!! Now just to get my cricut.

So I had decided earlier in the week that today was going to be the day to get my cricut and also the outfit I was supposed to get when I hit 190 lbs. So after dropping Tye off at Pre-K I went on a shopping spree!! LOL Not really, but sort of! I tried on a couple of black pants for work, but since there was no elastic in the waist they just pooched in the back and looked dumb. I also tried on a pair of jean capris and they fit. Size, get this, Size 16/18!!!!! WOOHOO!!! Another bonus! I have gone from a 22/24 to a 16/18! YES!! They were a tiny bit snug, not that they looked bad, but they felt snug, but I bet if I lose only 3 more pounds they will be perfect. So YIPEE! I also tried on some shirts and found one that was also a 16/18! Feeling good!!!

So then off to the scrapbook area. I picked up my cricut, put it in the cart and got a few other groceries. I go up to the check out and the guy rings everything up and I am looking at the credit card machine that also gives you the running total and it says Cricut "You saved $84.00". So my thought was oh they have been on sale for awhile then. But then I looked up at the price screen thing, the one all cash registers have, the black and green one and it says Cricut $100.00! I looked back at the credit card machine and read the whole line and it says "Was 184.00. You saved $84.00" I was like WHAT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? I asked the cashier and he said, "yep, that's what it rang up as." I looked at the guy behind me and I said, "that's a better price than the day after Thanksgiving sale!" (My scrapbooking friend got hers there the day after Thanksgiving last year or the year before I am not sure, and paid $119.) Anyway, the cashier guy says, "You got Christmas today!!" I said, "Maybe I should go back and buy some other things!" lol I thought I was stoked before! Now I was doing the happy dance!! Oh yeah, can you see it??? Yep doing the happy dance!! ROFL!

I am feeling lucky. Maybe I should play the lottery!! lol Nah, I better the save the money I just saved! lol

Scrapping Someone Else's Pics

Okay remember how I told you I sent my pics to a friend (Karrilee) who is "caught up"? Well at the same time I did that I told another friend (Denice) about it who also sent pics to Karrilee as a joke and to ME! Like I have time!! lol Doesn't she know I already have enough of my own, hence why I am pawning them off on other people? hehehe BUT to her credit she also asked me to send her some of mine. So it is a fair exchange in the end. So her pictures were of her DS's 1st communion. A couple of weeks before she sent them to me I had gotten a free kit from http://www.scrapbookflair.com/ that had some religious stuff in it. So it was perfect for these pictures!

So here is are the page I completed for her (the pages Denice did and Karrilee did for her are on her blog: http://scrap-happy-de.blogspot.com/2008/09/three-times-charm.html):

S2L Challenge 8/29-9/5

Okay so this week's challenge was:

- Fall is on the way!!! Use leaves in your layout!
- Not ready for fall quite yet? That's okay- football starts this weekend, too!!! How about using your favorite sports team's colors?

I chose the first one to use leaves on my layout. They are what the pics are about and then there are some leaves in the background paper and also leaves as the embellishments on the first page.
