Chat Room Project-Brag Book

Tracy taught us a cute little project. I was a bit of a pill...that perfectionist coming out in me (sorry Tracy! lol) and kept asking questions cause of the colors I picked out and the directions. lol But it all turned out and here is my finished brag book!

Of course pictures still have to be added to it, but that will be super quick and easy. I will just pick a few pictures out this next week hopefully and then put them on and be done with this way cute project! I AM LOVIN' IT! lol :-) Check, one project done. Now gotta finish the other one, but I have to go shopping for it, so I am not worrying about it right now. :-)
Oh and don't forget to look at the post below to see the page I got done yesterday at a speed scrap!

Speed Scrap #115 at STS

I so love Speed Scraps! Have I ever told you that?! lol It is fun doing new things on a layout, or doing it a new way, getting different layouts and such. I also really love getting the participation prizes. Some are neat quickpages or brag books and others are entire kits! They all are great though!

So anyway, here are the instructions:
1. CHOOSE 2 PAPERS, 1 PLAIN AND 1 PATTERENED, AND ONE PICTURE. PLACE PLAIN PAPER ON BACKGROUNDS.
2. CUT 2ND paper INTO A 2X9 INCH STRIP AND PLACE IN UPPER LEFT OF PAPER. CROP PICTURE INTO A 4x4 SQUARE AND STROKE OR MATT PICTURE USING A COLOR FROM YOUR PAPERS AND PLACE SOMEWHERE ON THE PAPER STRIP.
3. ADD GREENERY(LOTS OF GREENERY) AND FLOWERS ALL THE WAY AROUND PICTURE, BETWEEN PICTURE AND STRIP OF PAPER.
4. ADD A FEW SWIRLY ELEMENTS: CAN BE RIBBONS, STRINGS, ANYTHING SWIRLY.
5. FIND A "GOTTA HAVE" ELEMENT AND PLACE NEAR UPPER CORNER AND LOWER CORNER OF PICTURE.
6. ADD AT LEAST A 3 WORD TITLE AND DATE.
7. ADD SHADOWS AND ANYTHING ELSE YOUR LAYOUT MAY NEED.

And here is my Layout! My sister will be happy as this will go in her pile of pages to be printed off (which reminds me I really gotta get an account created and get them all uploaded for her! lol)

Country Life by A Work in Progress with Add on by Sweet Blossom Designs.
Heart and Alpha from A Touch of Romance by A Work in Progress and Stacy's Scraps

I LOVE how it turned out! I love the quote I found, I love the layout with the picture highlighted! I just love it! Hope my sister does too (and everyone else! lol)

Dream Big by Spinky Dink Scraps

Spinky Dink Scraps has teamed up with Litabells to create an Olivia inspired kit. Well since DS hasn't ever watched Olivia or cares about it, I didn't have anything to scrap for that. BUT the cool thing about this is it has so many OTHER things in it that it works well with lots of pictures!

Sorry I don't have a preview of the whole kit. But here is what I did with it. This first one is our silly boy. Not so much right now, but especially when Kevin started working at Best Buy as part of the Geek Squad he always was asking to wear Kevin's badge when he would get home from work. So one day he put it on and asked me to tak ehis picture. So I did. Although the funny part in all of this is the fact that the boy calls it the "Squeak Squad" not Geek Squad!

The second page I created is of my DS's soccer team. This was after their last game. (I think they won it, but I can't remember for sure, they don't keep score and it doesn't really "matter" so we don't pay so much attention to it! lol) But Tye did ALMOST score a goal! It was so close and just has he went to kick it (it was a clear shot) someone else kicked it in! lol Oh well, he tried. So here is his team and then a picture of him with his coach and his HUGE trophy!

So if you need a non-traditional soccer kit or a pig/Olivia kit this one's for you! Head on over to Lindsay's blog to see how you can get this kit for yourself! :-)
Oh and this also meets the Scrap to Lose challenge for March 14-21 with the stitches on both pages.

Two Speed Scraps

Today at Stuff to Scrap there was supposed to be a Speed Scrap at 3pm today, but the hostess wrote the time down so she wasn't there. Someone else stepped up and did a speed scrap for us instead! :-)

Here are the directions for that one:

STEP 1
#1 Pick One large photo and change it to black and white or sepia and if you want leave one part of the photo in color
STEP 2
Choose 3 papers; 1 pattern and two solid. Use one solid as your background. Place your photo on your page taking up more than 1/2 of the space on your page...it should be BIG
STEP 3 Your second solid should border your photo AND stick out several inches on one side
STEP 4 Add your title (using both a cursive and printed font) to the paper that is exposed beyond your photo.
STEP 5 Use your pattern paper as a second border or accent anywhere under your photo
STEP 6 Create a cluster that includes a date or other small journaling and place it on a corner of your photo
STEP 7 Add stiching along one side of your photo, add shadows and upload to the gallery and forum

Here is what I came up with:

Then as the first one was finishing up the hostess showed up and so she said she would do a second one right then! lol So it all worked out!

Here are the instructions for that one:
Step 1: Choose 2 papers, 1 patterned for the background, 1 plain/cardstock/texture for top, make smaller than first paper.
Step 2: Choose 2 photos, stack them so they are both visible, but one is behind the other. Mat/frame/stroke both photos.
Step 3: Now fasten the photos to the papers. Use what works for you: stitches, staples, brads, etc.
Step 4: Cut a patterned paper into a shape, place behind the 2 photos (centered) Add 2 ribbons/ricracs/strings/etc. (not 2 of each..just 2 of any..or 1 of 1 and 1 of another..)
Step 5: Add 9 elements, including a tag w/date.
Step 6: Add a title. Use 1 alpha, 1 script font & 1 print font.
Step 7: Add your shadows, any journaling or extra elements, save, upload to gallery & link to this thread!

And my LO!

The pictures in both of these layouts were actually taken the same day. He is was playing around in the computer room. First he said "take my picture" so I took the first one and then he wanted to be a monster and I thought his facial expressions were too cute so I took the second ones. :-)

Buttercup by Shel Belle Scraps

Shel Belle Scraps has a new freebie kit out starting tomorrow called Buttercup. You will have to go to her blog each week to get the four pieces of the kit. It is her March monochromatic kit and of course, you guessed it based on the title that it is a yellow and white kit. So cute! So really darling elements!

I decided to use it to scrap some pictures of our pepper growing adventure. Well it was supposed to be peppers and some flowers, but the flowers never grew. The peppers did but we had way too many and so the peppers never got more than an 1 1/2 big! lol Live and learn right?! lol

Anyway, here are my pages.

So head on over to Shel's blog and snag this freebie for yourself!
