Speed Scrap #256 at STS

I participated in the SS at STS on Sunday evening. I love how the LO turned out!
Here are the instructions:
Step 1. choose two papers and 4 photos.
Step 2: make all photos the same size, and arrange them so they are touching each other.
Step 3: make one paper into your background paper, and use the other paper to mat all 4 photos. Choose a ribbon, it can be straight or curled, but it needs to be long enough to go all the way across your layout. You can place it anywhere either horizontally or vertically.
Step 4: Use a flower or other element of choice 5 times and arrange around your photos as you wish. Also use a scattered element of choice and arrange under your photos.
Step 5: Offset frame 1 of your pictures then put a date on a tag and add it to that framed picture.
STEP 6: Add a title and put it above your photos if they are horizontal, or to the side if your photos are vertical.
STEP 7: Depending on the direction of your photos, journal below or to the side and don't forget to add any drop shadows and any finishing touches, then upload to the gallery and post your results in the forum as well.

And here is my page!

I know the journaling is super hard to read so here it is:
We went to the pound & let Tye look around. After going through all the cages and seeing all the animals we asked if there was one he liked. He immediately beelined it back to the first set of cages. As he ran along looking in the cages I knew the one he wanted. He ran past the cage. I said, “buddy which one are you looking for?” He said, “the one with the hurt paw,” as he tapped his arm. I said, “you mean this one?” as I pointed to her cage. He came back and saw her and said, “yeah.” Then he squat down and said to her, “do you want to be my pet?” It was all over. We knew she was the one for us!

A Few Cards

Here are the recent cards I made. This first one is for my nephew, Kendrick. He is the one that is one day younger than Tye and they are the best of friends. I figured he would like this cool rocketship from the Boys Will Be Boys cricut cart with the number 7 in the middle! :-)
Then my scrapbooking friend was turning 50 this year. While I think this card is kindof plain, I still think it turned out cute. :-)
And then I made this card for Tye's "girlfriend" (he tells me he is going to marry her all the time). It was her birthday and we were invited to her birthday party. :-)
I have sent out a ton of other cards, but they were done early and posted the first part of May :-)

End of Year Teacher Gift 2011

I decided to make the Toilet Paper Mini Album for Tye's teacher this year. I had already done that two years ago and decided to do it again! :-)

Here is the front of the album.
This is the thank you note in the first pocket...I guess I was too close on most of these pictures and didn't realize it until now when I am uploading them. :-( On the back was a note from Tye too...but I didn't get a picture taken of it since I had him do it that morning and we were in a HUGE rush! lol
The 2nd roll.
The inside of the second page had the picture I took of the whole class and their teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week.
The 3rd roll.
A picture of Tye and his teacher.4th roll. (I did one more roll this year than last year since I added the class picture, which I didn't do last time.)
A gift card for his teacher to Kohl's one of her favorite stores!
Here she is opening it. It was too funny because I stuffed a sample Oh My Chai mix from Tastefully Simple in with it and she thought that was the gift and was all excited about it! lol

Then my friend, Lara, who is the mom of one of Tye's classmates this year and they were in Pre-K together, said to her, "there's something much better in there!" lol So she opened it and thought it was pretty cool!
I am so happy with the way this one turned out! I had so many ideas on how to use it. At first I was worried my colors were too limited, but they turned out great! :-)

Boys' Night by The Scrappy Kat

Wow it's already the first of June and that means a new Build-A-Kit theme at Stuff to Scrap. The theme this month is slumber parties! The Scrappy Kat has used a boys' slumber party, with video games as her theme. I couldn't quite decide between two layouts--a "camp out" that we do sometimes and pics of Tye when we first got the Wii, but for the interest of time I chose to do the Wii pics since it fit the elements better! lol :-)

Here is a preview of the papers and the elements.

Here is the layout I ended up creating. I have used this LO before and loved it so much that I scraplifted my own layout! lol

So head on over to Stuff to Scrap and get the kit for $1.99 for each piece!
