Mayhem by Bits N Bobs

Bits N Bobs has a new kit out called Mayhem. I actually thought this was a fun mixture of themes. A little punk and a little music in there! :-) Here is a preview of the kit.

And here are my pages! The first one is of my DS with a bunch of other boys putting on a little concert for the dads at the Father/Son Campout in March.
I LOVED the word art that was in the kit "Mayhem on the Menu" and thought about these pictures that I took of the kids at dinner time one day when we were on vacation in Park City, Utah. I thought it fit perfectly. The kids were being silly, (not naughty at all, so don't think our children are bad or anything), but just pulling faces and chatting away with each other. It was quite funny. So anyway, I used this to make a two page spread for it.

So head on over to the Bits N Bobs blog to see how you can get this kit for yourself!

Memorial Day kit by Shel Belle Scraps

Shel Belle Scraps has a mini Memorial Day kit for free on her blog this weekend only! On Tuesday it will go into the store. So hurry over to get the kit for free now while you can! lol

Here is a preview of the mini kit.

I used this kit during the speed scrap this afternoon. Here are the directions:
Step 1: Choose 4 papers – 1 or 2 of them patterned
Step 2: Choose 1 large picture and a frame for it.
Step 3: Use 2 of your papers as your background, layering them however you’d like. Cut one of the remaining papers into a 4 x 12 strip and place it on your layout going either horizontally or vertically across your page. Use your last paper any way you wish
Step 4: Place your photo on your layout and frame it – but your frame must be off-set from the photo (tilted, etc.)
Step 5: Add 1 ribbon somewhere near or on your 4 x 12 paper strip. Add 2 round elements of your choice (can be the same one duplicated or 2 different ones…your choice) & 3 other elements of your choice.
Step 6: Add stitching to tie your layout all together ( I did mine all around the outside edges).
Step 7: Add a big one word title, attaching it with a fastener of your choice. Add any finishing touches

And here is the LO I created based on the instructions.

Don't forget you can get the kit for free this weekend only! So hurry over to Shel Belle's blog to get it now!!!

May Card Club Cards 05/11/10

We had card club on Tuesday May 11th. We had some more super cute cards!!! These ladies amaze me!

The first two cards, the one on the left is Karina's card, a thinking of you. I love the colors and the ribbon with the gems on the side! And the one on the right is Wendy's Father's Day card. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ties on the bottom part of the card! Sooooo cute! I think I need to head to Joanns and find some more of this paper so I can make at least one more of these! lol

The top card is Kara's. Isn't it cute with the little bandaid on it?! And the bottom card is mine...yes you have seen this card before, but I changed the colors and think it is 100 times better.
And then this is Amanda's flower pot card! I LOVE the flowers she cut on the cricut and layered them soooooooooo amazing! We also cuttlebug embossed the flower pot and then inked it! I LOVE the texture it has with that!

Another great month of cards and my stash is growing. I need to start sending some more of them! lol :-)

At the Horse Races by Scraps N Pieces and other stuff

Scraps N Pieces has another awesome kit out called At the Horse Races. It was inspired by a STS forum member who had a friend with a horse that ran in the Kentucky Derby and won the Preakness horse races. While it is geared towards that it is great for all horse type photos/pages! I knew exactly what I wanted to use this kit for as soon as I saw the preview.

So here is the preview...
I completed this first page at a Speed Scrap. I actually like the black background with the different shaped papers. And then the whip inset with the title! :-)
The next is a two page LO. The first picture is of my grandmother's cousin George Woolf. He was one of the jockey's for Seabiscuit! The second one is of Tye when we took him riding. He hiked his knees and feet up just like a jockey does! He was so dang cute! So maybe jockeying is in the family! lol

So if you want this kit run on over to Stuff to Scrap to get this kit!
Also right now Scraps N Pieces has some other new products in the Stuff to Scrap Store. The first is some hot rod car doodles made by Heidi.

The second one is some cruise doodles! Aren't they so cute?!?!?!
And finally tomorrow is $2.00 Tuesday at Stuff to Scrap. Scraps N Pieces has their Let's Get Together kit and their Early Spring kit on sale. It is a sort of spring cleaning sale before summer gets here! :-)

Flower Pot Card #2 and Animal Shape Swap

Tonight during the chat, Denice showed us how to make these cute flower pot cards. I did not know how to cut them and all that, but I did kindof know how to make them since Amanda had made them at card club this month.

Here are the ones I came up with tonight! I really like them and love to have two more cards in my stash! :-) Thanks De!
The majority of today and last night I worked on my shapes for the Animal Shape Swap on the Cricuteers team at SparkPeople. I chose to make puppies. I had a problem at the end when I realized that I was short brown by two cuts. :-( So I was searching through some of my scrap paper and find some other brown that I had used for some cards previously. So yay! I got them all done and they are ready to ship off and get swapped out with other people's animal shapes! :-)

3 Speed Scraps 5/10-5/15

This week I participated in 3 speed scraps! Well the one yesterday I didn't participate IN, I did it AFTER! lol I had too much going on and kindof spaced it. But luckily the hostess Lori gave everyone until Midnight last night to complete it so I will still able to do it!

5/10 Speed Scrap Instructions:
Step 1: Pick one picture, duplicate it, turn the top layer black and white and then erase one item on the black and white picture so that the color from the bottom picture show. (Selective Coloring)
Step 2: Pick 7 papers. Use 2 for your background. Use three of papers to make cirlces and put them in an uneven line on your layout. Put a circle frame around ONE of the circles of paper. Then make strips out of the last two papers and place them on top of cirlces.
Step 3: Place your picture on top of only TWO of the circles.
Step 4: Put a frame BEHIND your picture but make it uneven so that they don't line up.
Step 5: Use each of the following items: ric rac, string, flowers/leaves, and then 2 other embellishments of your choice to cluster around your picture and papers.
Step 6: Stitch your two background papers together.
Step 7: Add drop shadows, a title, any finishing touches you want

And here is my page:

STEP 4: Attach the pictures in a row on one side of your layout - they should be lined up on the side.
STEP 5: Make a cluster around the side of your pictures (the side not on the edge!) Use at least on splatter - at least 2 ribbons and whatever else you want.
STEP 6: make a 1 -2 word title with an alpha and tuck it into the cluster
STEP 7: Add finishing touches and journaling (if you want)
