Speed Scrap #149

There was another speed scrap at STS today. Here are the instructions, took me forever to finish.

STEP 1: Choose only 1 paper and 1 photo (HINT: Your photo will need to be able to be BIG )
STEP 2: Color manipulate your photo. For example: You can desaturate it, use selective coloring, antique it, or use colored filters, etc.
For Photoshop Element users there are some fun actions that manipulate photos HERE.
Photoshop CS users go HERE
NOTE: The links are not required....just an idea of what you can do.
STEP 3: Place your photo on your paper (horizontally or vertically) so that it covers at least two-thirds of the page.
NOTE: If you digital camera does not take picture large enough to cover 2/3rds just place your photo on the page as large as it will go.
STEP 4: Embellish the area around the photo using at least one ribbon and a swirl of some kind. Don't forget to go over and under the photo too.
STEP 5: Add a simple, large title that overlaps both the photo and the paper/embellished area.
STEP 6: Include the date and/or location and any optional journaling.
STEP 7: Add you drop shadows and any finishing touches.

So this is what I came up with first. I had to hurry to finish in time, and I wasn't that thrilled with it but it did meet the steps.

Then I started playing with it some more and came up with this page.
So my question for you is which one do you like the best??? Please be honest as I don't want to print out one that I like when everyone else thinks it looks stupid. (and Yes I tried to combine the two and believe me it DID look stupid! lol)

I was drawn to the bottom one....his face stands out more and the elements and title seem to be more in the background, whereas in the first one, I'm first drawn to the title and elements.

Either way, I don't think you can go wrong! They're both great ;)
