So I was looking around a couple of weeks ago for a new layout technique and came across a speed scrap that was done at STS on Dec 23rd that I had missed. I saw one LO in particular and FELL IN LOVE with it. I soooo wanted to do it that I decided to try. Well the first problem was I didn't have the shapes. The second problem was try as I might I could NOT figure out how to get the shapes to work like the instructions suggested. So I went back to the host for the SS--Scraps of Ellay--and asked for her help. She was able to figure out how to tell me how to do it step by step and it worked AWESOME! I totally loved it! So here are the entire directions and after that is what I came up with! Oh I had too many pictures I wanted to use that I actually used 3 diff pics in step 3 instead of one.
Step 1: Choose 2 papers, one patterned and one solid. Place the solid paper over the patterned paper, totally covering the patterned paper. Then, download these vector shapes.
Step 2: Using any of these vector shapes, "cut out" that shape in any 2 corners of your layout. Your patterned paper should be "peeking" out from these "holes". Then, put a fairly heavy shadow under your top paper to give a "raised" effect. Let me know if you need help on how to "cut out" your shapes.
Step 3: Choose one photo, crop into a square and duplicate it 2-3 times.
Step 4: Arrange your photos in a linear fashion across your page, either vertically or horizontally.
Step 5: Choose the following: 2 flat ribbons, 1 ricrac, some stitches, and any other "linear" embellishment you like and line them along your strip of photos.
Step 6: Add any other embellies you think the layout needs.
Step 7: Title and date if you wish and don't forget your shadows to make your layout POP!
