Pillowcases

Well if you haven't been here for a couple of days you have missed at least two posts, but probably 3! lol So, after you check out this post, please continue to scroll down and see the other scrapbook pages I have created this week (this week's total is 6 pages!).

Anyway, one of my goals this month (see my family blog) is to create holiday pillowcases for my DS who does not have a set and also to complete DH's and I's set. So this week I started working on it and was able to complete 4 pillowcases. They are nothing fancy, just holiday print material made into pillowcases, but they are fun and something I feel like I can complete. It takes me about 1 hour to complete 1 pillowcase. That is from start to finish. I iron the material, measure and cut the material. Then I do a hem on the top, iron that down, then a cuff on the top, iron that down. Sew the cuff down. Then pin it all around the edges and sew all the way around. Turn it inside out, and iron the seams. And it's done!

This is DS's St. Patrick's Day pillowcase. He was so surprised when he got home from school on Thursday and there it was on his pillow! He loved it!
This is the St. Patrick's Day one I made for DH. (I already had one.) DS noticed it was there before Daddy did! lol
This is a Halloween one I created for myself. DH already has one and DS's I need to cut out (he chose which material from the stash I had). I had a few from when I made the original 15 sets (yes for all of my siblings and their children, at the time, now they have added quite a few, MAYBE I will try to catch up with all of them this year. We'll see.) Don't look too closely at it as I didn't realize until I was completely done that the tension on this was not right. I didn't even change the tension and it is just fine for the white thread I was using, but when I switched to the black it totally was not right. ARGH! I am going to have a play with it a little bit to figure it out before I do DS's Halloween one as I will need to use black thread on it too.

This one was originally supposed to be for DS, because DH and I already had "summer" ones. But when DH saw the strawberries on it (it also was already cut out) he claimed it for himself. He is a strawberry lover.

As a result, this one, that was previously DH's now became DS's--I had to show it because it is too cute. Click on it to see a bigger image. Anyway, it is corn with faces on it!! Too cute!!!

So yes, I have been busy between scrapbooking and sewing! I am very proud of myself getting 6 scrapbook pages done this week and finishing 4 pillowcases. Next week I hope to get DS's Halloween, Easter and Valentine's Day pillowcases done. :-) I also need to complete Patriotic ones (we will use those for 4th of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day) for all of us. I thought I already had made some for us, but I can't find them. Maybe they are cut out too, but never completed. Who knows. I have one more bin to go through of material so we'll see what I find! :-)

The Pillowcases look great! My grandma makes my family members pillow cases every year for our birthday and christmas and I just love them. They really are great gifts.

I take a couple days off from the computer and come back to find half a novel (w/ pictures) waiting for me! LOL!

Love your pillowcases, and I bet the boys do to.

All I can say about all your LO's is WOWZA, you have been busy! I love all of them! You amaze me with all your creativity, as it seems limitless!
